Flour halva, one of the indispensable tastes of Turkish cuisine, is made in oil lamps and almost every home on special days. Our favorite form in our home is its smell, consistency and roasted walnuts, while it spreads in the mouth and the taste it leaves on the palate. You can make flour halva with a little attention and care, and if there is someone to help at home, you can easily roast it together.
Service: 6-8 people
Cooking time: 40-45 minutes
Ingredients for halva with walnut:
200 g butter
100 ml oil
500 g flour
1 cup walnuts, cut into large pieces
For the syrup
250 g icing sugar
250 ml of water
Making of halva with walnut:
First of all, let's prepare the sherbet;
Put the powdered sugar and water in the pot, stirring until the sugar dissolves over medium heat, boil a stone and turn off the stove, set aside for warming. Put butter and oil in a large pan or pan with a thick bottom. When the oil melts on medium heat, add the flour slowly, and when the smell of the flour starts to come out, set the stove on low heat. Stir for about 45 minutes, stirring constantly with a wooden spoon until the color of the flour darkens (add after 20 minutes to avoid walnuts burning). When adding the sherbet to the roasted flour, stir quickly to avoid lumps. When flour flour is pulled, fix it with the back of the spoon and turn off the stove. While it is hot, shape it as you wish with the spoon and put it on the serving plate.
